Bossier Little League (BLL) Board Members are community moms, dads, etc., just like you! Elected Officers, Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Managers, Team Moms, or any other party connected to BLL, does NOT receive compensation for the duties for which they have been elected or appointed.

We are all Volunteers!
We are here to help and provide you and your family with the best youth baseball/softball experience possible!

Duties:
The President shall: serve as the Chief Executive Officer of BLL; be an ex-officio member of all standing and special committees; perform such other duties as are normally associated with the office of President; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.

Special duties are:
A. To preside at all meetings of BLL membership and Board of Directors.
B. To appoint managers, coaches, umpires and committees subject to board approval.
C. To appoint Special Committees to perform duties as deemed necessary for the occasion.

Duties:
The Secretary shall: have custody of the Constitution, Bylaws, and all other administrative records of BLL; keep an accurate record of the meetings and other activities of BLL and of the Board of Directors; be responsible for all correspondence on behalf of BLL; ensure that a copy of the BLL Constitution and Bylaws are on file with Little League Headquarters and any amendments or revisions are submitted to Little League Headquarters for review; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.

Duties:
The information officer is responsible for all of the league's technology endeavors including the web presence, social media, online registration, assigning administrative rights to league volunteers and teams, ensures that league news and scores are updated on a regular basis, collects, posts and distributes important information on League activities including direct dissemination of fund-raising and sponsor activities to Little League International, district, public, league members and media, serves as primary contact person for Little League and Blue Sombrero regarding optimizing use of the Internet for league administration and for distributing information to league members and to Little League International, and displays enthusiasm for using the Internet for league administration, for sharing information and for creating a more enjoyable and efficient Little League experience.

    Duties:
    The Treasurer shall: receive and disburse all funds with the approval of the Board of Directors; keep an accurate account of all funds received and disbursed for BLL; submit a financial report at all regular meetings and at such other times as may be requested by the President; compile an annual report of association finances; provide the financial records of BLL and such other documentation as requested for the annual audit; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.Voting Position

    Duties:
    The VP of Baseball shall (Within Baseball Leagues): supervise the assignment of umpires; consider all complaints relative to baseball leagues, make suitable recommendations to the Board of Directors; prepare league schedules; attend all (to the maximum extent possible) league registration and draft proceedings; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.

    Duties:
    The VP of Challenger League shall (Within the Challenger League): supervise the assignment of umpires; consider all complaints relative to Challenger leagues, make suitable recommendations to the Board of Directors; prepare league schedules; attend all (to the maximum extent possible) league registration and draft proceedings; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.

    Duties:
    The player agent conducts annual tryouts, is in charge of player selection, assists the president in checking birth records and eligibility of players and generally supervises and coordinates the transfer of players to or from the Minor Leagues according to provisions of the regulations of Little League Baseball. Separate player agents may also be selected to oversee individual divisions within the league. The player agent must not manage, coach or umpire in the division over which he/she has authority, unless the local league has received explicit written permission to allow this from Little League International.

    Duties:
    The safety officer coordinates all safety activities including supervision of ASAP (A Safety Awareness Program), ensures safety in player training, ensures safe playing conditions, coordinates reporting and prevention of injuries, solicits suggestions for making conditions safer, and reports suggestions to Little League International through the ASAP system.

       Duties:
    • Solicits and secures local sponsorships to support league operations
    • Collects and reviews sponsorship and fundraising opportunities
    • Organizes and implements approved league fundraising activities
    • Coordinates participation in fundraising activities
    • Maintains records of monies secured through sponsorship and fundraising initiatives

    Duties:
    The facilities manager shall: make recommendations to the Board of Directors for ordering and purchasing uniforms and playing equipment for BLL; be responsible for the collection, inventory, and storage of equipment during the off-season; prepare such reports and suggestions as needed by the Board of Directors for budgetary action; transmit all records and correspondence to any person elected to succeed him or her in that office.

    Coaching and Player Development Coordinator

    Duties:
    • Responsible for overseeing all programs and development opportunities relating to managers, coaches and players.
      Presents coach/manager training budget to the board.
    • Coordinates with the VP's of Softball/Baseball and the Player Agents to schedule, conduct and monitor all clinics, seminars, or other development affairs.
    • Prime contact with other leagues, High School Varsity/Junior Varsity and Middle School coaches. Works with school coaches to tailor all development programs to act as a feeder programs to the schools.
    • Responsible for monitoring and evaluating the development and progress of all managers and coaches in the League (coordinated with VP Softball/Baseball and Division Directors). Diligently works to continually teach managers and coaches correct basic player skills, as well as managerial skills.
    • Institutes and updates all printed development vehicles, such as manuals, flyers, internet correspondence, etc. Responsible for making information available to all managers, coaches and players as appropriate.
    • Maintains library of teaching materials including team training manuals and DVDs.

       

    At-Large Members

      Duties:
    Members elected to represent the general membership of Bossier LIttle League as a whole. They serve on ad hoc committees or coordinate on behalf of the board as needed.
